Winchester rifles who has one?
Also who is wanting to buy one now that they have closed up shop. I have owned two different rifles in the past.I have a left hand .270 WSM featherweight on layaway(from cabelas)right now. I don't plan on letting it go now they are gone. None of the gun shops around here have any winchesters M70's or 94'sleft at all. I do knowyou can still find them for sale ongunbroker or at gun shows but it seems they want about tripple the price. If I could I would love to get my hands on a 94 legacy 30-30 for a good price.

Got some, like 'em (especially my 375 H&H Supergrade).
Not out to buy more....
Not as long as CZ has what I want...
Win never chambered any of the RUMs, and I hold that against them.
Theydid goshort stroke crazy IMHO.
If you like the M-70s there are plenty of worthy "knock offs" of that action.

I know a guy that bought 2 300 wsm's in December before news of the plant closing. One was a SS featherweight and the other was a 300 wsm supergrade. I can tell you this the workmanship on those 2 guns would make one puke. Lousy checkering, inletting work, cheap bedding and tool marks on the reciever and in the raceways...No wonder they went out of business

You might as well say you have a real Winchester if you have a pre-64. My best friend has a pre64 in 300 H&H. Since the plant closing the pre-64's have taken a very nice price jump.

RE: Winchester rifles who has one?
I have a mod 70 (270 WSM) that I bought last year. I like it o.k. but not as much as some others I own. The action is not really very smooth but visually / cosmetically it's quite nice. It's up for sale now but everybody seems to think I'm running a charity or something. The typical offer has been like $450-500 bucks. No way Jose. I've got $700 in it sans scope! Ive seen them on sites for $800-1100. However, it does shoot decently. The last range trip yielded about 1 inch groups with 130 gr Rem Premier Scirocco Bonded. It does feel / point nicely too. Overall, I'd give it a 7 on a scale of 1-10. Personally, I'll keep acquiring Sako's / Tikkas. They are my favorites.

Model 70 Classic Featherweight SS 25 WSSM...
Purchased shortly after the plant announcement...current completed sales on Gunbroker have been between 10-20% premium to my purchase price.
I will most likely not do any significant work on it this year. I spent most of the spring working on my muzzleloaderin preparation forthe Hog hunt I took at the begining of this month. I am also still doing some work on my Tar-hunt Mountaineer that I recently add to my slug gun collection.

I went to Bass Pro in Springfield, MO this weekend. They still have several M70 rifles available for their original price. If anyone is in the area, you may want to get there before it's too late.
