I really like the 3 point safety and drop down floor plate on the winchesters but to get it in regular 7mm it would be 3grand.

What 7mmcartridge are you talking about (7mm Rem mag, 7mm-08, .280 Rem, ect....)? Also, what's the 3 grand all about?

After picking up My new Savage with the Accu=Trigger, I wouldn't look any further. Its the best thing out there. IMO.

What is a "regular 7mm" and what off the rack rifle costs 3 grand? If you like the wing type safety and drop plate of the winchester then you should also look at the Ruger, but quite frankly any of the Ruger, Rem, Win, Browning, Tikka, Sako will cost less than a grand.

By "regular" 7mm I'm assuming he means 7mm Rem mag, but who knows. What I'm really interested in hearing about, though, is the "3grand" Winchester. Maybe it's just a typo or something.

What Winchesters are left in the stores are bringing some pretty big bucks in some places.

Kind of ironic isn't it? First they can't sell enough to stay in business, now you can't get one without paying a pretty penny.

I have a Remington 700 BDL stainless in 7mm Rem Mag with an H-S Precision stock, hinged floorplate, and a Leupold VX-II scope that all together would cost just a little over a grand to buy/build, all extras considered. I really like this gun and after it had a professional trigger job to make the trigger break like glass at 2.5 lbs, I'd consider this rifle as good a performer in the hunting field as any 7mm Mag rifle out there. With good factory ammo, it's very sub-MOA and pleasant to shoot. I think it looks nice too.
