matte scope on stainless rifle

has anybody done this? does it look ok? if anybody has got some pictures i'ld like to see them. i realy like the savage 17 hmr w/ thumbhole stock and stainless barrel but i can't find a scope that is silver that i like, i really like the bsa sweet 17 series of scopes but was just wondering what they would look like together.

I always use Matte black scopes with black rings on my stainless rifles.
Remington XCR in 375H&H topped with a Kahles 2.2-7X36 in Leuplod rings and bases.

Remington Model 7 in 269rem topped with a Kahles 2.2-7X36 in Leupold rings and one-piece base.

I like the Matt on stainless guns better the stainless on stainless. With the later, the colors seldom really match and I guess I prefer the more total contrast. This is even more true if I have a Black Synthetic stock. I am picking up my Stainless Savage 270WSM Varmit rifle next week and plan to put a Matt scope on that.

I agree with James B. I have a matte black Leupold VXII on my stainless/laminate Ruger and I love the way it looks. I'm going home over easter so I'll take pics of it if I can remember.
