Leave it as is in 6.5x55 and go out and shoot near one hole groups.Thats what I do with mine. To my notion there is not a better medium size game rifle made. It will take most of NA's biggest game as well. All this with next to no recoil. I have quite a few Mausers, None will outshoot the 96 in 6.5x55.

My VZ is a 6.5-55 as well believe it or not

I remember reading a guy's statement here that his 6.5 shoots 3/4" groups at 200 yrds with iron sights.......yup...I can't do that.....

200yds< I can't do that either...... i said 100yds w/scope and the rifle is only limited by ME. I use mine for deer hunting and have also taken a moose w/it. Mild recoil is an understatement. My wife has put her name on it and I'm shooting deer w/.30-06 (a little overgun for my liking even for CDN whttail) I shoot 140gr pills and have never had any game animal run over 50yds, actually of the 12 or 13 game animals taken w/it only 2 have gone anywhere. Those 140's are over an inch long and penetrate like MAD

I agree. I have used the 140 grain Hornady spire point for almost all of my hunting with the 6.5. Very effective cartridge.

Vapor you just can let it go can you. It was me that said it. You spend 12 weeks in sniper school and shoot at least 1000 round a year and you can to, just use a bench and sand bags. OH if you need a target thatI shot at 200 yards I will see if I can load it for you.

I left one as a 6.5 Swede and turned the other into a .30-'06. Just have to be sure not to load the '06 too hot and she'll shoot like nobody's business.

All right but where you live the bet will have to be differant than just $100,00 dollars. Here is how it will have to be I will buy the plane ticket about $700.00 dollars to fly where you are to shoot on you're range, my gun and my ammo 3 shots 200 yards 3/4 of a inch open sights when this is done the loser pays for the plane ticket and the $100.00 dollar so the total bet will be about $800.00 dollars if you are up for it then the BET IS ON. Cash in hand the day of the shoot.
I will have to wait till after easter which is this weekend but after that I am open because I am retired so we can do this any day. the only thing is it will have to be a nice day no rain or 20 to 30 m.p.h winds. I am ready if you are.
