I just shot a 17 Rem centerfire and a 204 Ruger for the first time at the range today...

I was busting small pieces of clays at 200 yards nearly every shot with it. Done the same with a 204...VERY accurate pieces. The 17 was a 700 bdl and the 204 was a short barrel stainless Ruger.

Here is a 17mach 2 (a .22 LR necked to .17) and a 17HRM (a .22 mag. necked to .17)

Now a .17 Rem. is a centerfire and a horse of a different color. What case is it based on? Is it a .222 ?

A .22 hornet necked to .17 would be fun gun.

200 yards is nothing for the 17 Rem...but it does NOT like wind.
