Default What Scope - Encore 15" 460 S&W

Just ordered a new pistol barrel for my encore frame. The 15" 460 S&W. want a decent quality scope that with hold up to the heavy recoil. Price range if possible $200-300. The scope I am wondering about is the Leupold FX-II 2X20MM. It weighs in right at the $300 range, and is backed by the lifetime warrenty. Any particular thoughts on this scope or a different one I should take a look at. Plan to use the weapon for large game ~200-250 yards with a good rest. Elk/Deer primarily.

Any Leupold scope should serve you well. Another one to consider is the Burris FF2 1.75 - 5 variable. Not real expensive - has held up to magnum muzzleloader recoil well for me.

I have to agree with Roskoe,Weave has some nice scopes for "hand-cannons". My 7mm-08 Encore has a Weaver and never had a problem...

I have used more Weaver Pistol scopes than any other kind but the Leupold would work well too. I would stay with the 2X scopes.
