Alot of people might not agree with me but mine would be the M1 Garand.... The most reliable war gun ever. It has won all the wars in the past. Very rugged and durable not to mention accurate,unlike the M16, If you drop a m16 in mud and pick it up to shoot I don't think it's going to shoot as good but M1 garand on the other hand is different.I have one and I've drop it mud, put sand in it and whole bunch of other stuff and it still shoot as accurate as when I bought it.

Considering everything involved, the 700 Remington would be my pick as a hunting gun. To me you have to consider price in the equation. The best gun is no good to me if I can't afford it.
