If you guys could design your own dream gun what would it be? Would you put anyfeatures from other gunson it? (ie..safety postion, bolt style, bottom eject ect. ect. ect. Would you have any special engravings, checkering patterns, style of stock and forearm?
I know that I have seen some guns that I wouldn't mind adding a few of my ownadditions to.

Remington beat me to it. The 700 SPS is just about all I need in a rifle. I have built up a few rifles on 700 Remington actions. One had a Douglas barrel and was chambered in 7mm-08. I had a 26 ich barrel and Timney trigger. I built this one for Steel Silhouette shooting quite a few years back. Any rifle that I would build would have a synthetic stock. I would again chamber it in 260, 270, 7MM-08 or 280. 26 inch minimum barrel length, I can always trim it back if I want it shorter. I am not much for fancy.

Don't know how much I'd like it once it was made but the idea seems real good right now....
Take a Savage 99-ish idea. First put on a mannlincher stock made out of very high grade walnut. (WITHOUT that super shiny 'glass finish'[>:] Wood should feel as good as it looks and I personally think that style of finish ruins a rifle...for some reason shotguns are a different story to me[&:]) 22" barrel with iron sights, front sight with a hoop-cover-thingy.
-Now here's the neat part. Its what I'd call a 'double magazine'. The clip would hold 4 shells...and there would be a tunnel bore into the stock long enough to hold 4 spent shells. As you cycled through shells the action would NOT eject the shells but begin the fill the stock magazine. When the stock magazine is full the action would then begin to eject shells through a norma ejection port on the left. To empty the stock magazine just push a lever on the left side of reciever and a spring in hehind the shells plops out a nice pile through a second ejection 'hole' on the right side. (I could go into how this might work...but it I get brain cramps if I think about too long and I'm not exactly Clark Kent on a keyboard)
Now I'd build one in 6mm-08 7mm-06 8mm-06....and yes a 375-06. Probably 30-30 and 44 mag carbines too

I call itPROJECT-X
I am going to have Kirby Allen build it for me I think. Going to use 700 action, Lilja barrel #7 contour, Chambered in 300rum, Black H.S Stock, Action and barrel coated in O.D green Gun-Kote, and thinking a Nightforce scope.
I hope to be able to punch paper out to 800 yards accuratley. Dont know how much I'll use it for hunting cause I already have a 300rum for that but I might wont shoot that far though.
I dont like pretty shiny engraved rifles they do nothing for me. I like stainless/synthetic or like the rem cdl's are nice looking.
I do want one of DM'S Ultimate triple barrels though.

my dream guns would be on a Remington M700 actions with oversized bolt handles with 24" heavy sporter contoured kreiger barrels and jarden triggers chambered for 308 winchester, 300 win mag and 22-250 with parkerized finishes. the stocks would be Bell and Carlson with the freedom tan finish on the 22-250 and tan web on the other two. The scope bases will be a Near Perfection picatinny style with badger ordnance 30mm max-50 rings with a leupold LPS 2.5-10x45mm scope on the 308 and 300 WM and a leupold Mark 4 in a 8.5-25x50mm on the 22-250.
The 308 winchester version is in the process of being made I have the M700 short action, .30 cal barrel blank, trigger and stock. just waiting for my reputable gun smith and good friend to finish up a gun for one of his clients. My estimated total for this gun will be $2,250
