From one who has been married over 40 yrs I can only say that regardless how you do it, you must get the "hunting" understanding firmly in place. It has to be a matter of fact - a non debatable issue. Be fair with her the rest of the year but be firm about the hunting priority during hunting season(s). That way she knows what's coming and accepts it and you'll enjoy it all the more. As men we're entitled to "no hassle hunting". Good Luck. gg.

Ruger ,hunting a small part of the year? it's year round for me! my wife has never had any objection to me hunting she just gets a little ticked cause i think about it year round. she says there is more to life than hunting. i say WHAT?
she just gets upset cause i have so many guns and can only shoot one at a time.she can't understand why i need so many. i guess i am an addict!

Soarkrebel, I stand corrected. I meant Deer season is such a small part of the year. The varmint hunting in the off season goes without saying.I have to agree with GG.He sounds like with over 40 years of being married he's has it down pat.Can you really have to many guns?I personally don't think so.Most ladies just don't have their priorities in proper order. They just Can't Understand Normal Thinking.Ruger Redhawk

Well to end this story i told her tonight. it was my birthday and i said i had bought myself a little present. so i walked out of the closet with it . and she gets the look like i bought a whole gun. she doesnt know one from the other.
I said NO just the scope honey. she said "oh". hehe she didn't get mad at all. i was a little disappointed i expect a little upset.
women i'll never figure them out !
It do look good on that stainless model seven. and i think you can't beat the vxII for a decent scope.the 3x9x50 that is!

My hunting season went right the heck out the window. Someone has taken my lovely and replaced her with a raging ball of harmones and 24/7 morning sickness.
