Im looking for a small game gun in the $300 to $700. I dont know what caliber yet.

Depending on how small your looking for, the .17 hmr's made by marlin, savage, cz, and ruger can all be had in your price range, or much less for that matter. As far as centerfires, the savage w/accutrigger in .204, .223, .22-250, or .243 would be perfect. Its all gonna come down to what you wanna use it for.

Define the "small game" you a want to hunt with it.

ur lookin at alot of good small game guns in your price range that you listed... u dont really need to go near as high as 700 for a small game gun... but it all depends on what (small game) your goin after

I like the CZ452 in .22lr. But it is available in the .17 calibers also. Nice european gun for not too much bread (around 250-350 depending on grade. Mine is rediculousluy accurate and has killed many a squirrel. I have a weaver 2*7x32 scope on it.
