RE: Browning Micro Hunter
I have a Browning A-Bolt lightweight stalker in 308. It shoots very well and I would think that any of the three calibers would be fine. I think the short action would be the way to go but I could never recommend against the 270 either. Sounds like a good problem to me.:D

RE: Browning Micro Hunter
Duck, thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize that all the WSM's had the same smaller stock as the Micro Hunter. I'll have to shoulder them again and see how they feel!

RE: Browning Micro Hunter
duck - FYI got the info from a browning dealer/gunsmith who does alot of work on Brownings. And anyway, 1 1/2 - 2 MOA is very respectable accuracy for a hunting rifle. But thatisn't acceptable to me - at least not in a good quality bolt action like the Browning. I like my 7-08 Micro Hunter especially now that it meets my standards.

RE: Browning Micro Hunter
I also have a browning micro hunter, but I have it in .270wsm. I like it a lot, it is nice out of a treestand, and the short cartridges are also the way to go.I put a sims limbsaver recoil pad on it & a timney replacement spring(which is real easy to replace)and is real sweet to shoot.

ORIGINAL: dakine999 Duck, thanks for the heads-up. I didn't realize that all the WSM's had the same smaller stock as the Micro Hunter. I'll have to shoulder them again and see how they feel! Yea I looked for a couple months at the Micro's I really wanted a 243Wssm in a micro and couldnt figure out why they didnt make that little gun in that caliber. So I sent Browning a message and they let me know that the Wssm A-bolt Huntershave the same stock as the Micro'sexcept the Wssm's have a 23" barrel. They are more expensive then the standard caliber Micro's though. The cool thing is that with the 23" barrel the Wssm is only 39.75"'s long and the 7mm-08 with a 20" barrel is 39.5"'s long. Very close for 3" longer barrel Walmart(the store from hell:D) has the standard micros for 549.00 and the Wssm Hunters for 649. Standard http://www.walmart.com/catalog/search-ng.gsp?search_constraint=4125&search_query=mic ro&ics=20&ico=0&Continue.x=15&Cont inue.y=17 Wssm Hunters http://www.walmart.com/catalog/search-ng.gsp?search_constraint=4125&search_query=wss m&ics=20&ico=0&Continue.x=27&Conti nue.y=17 Not saying that is the best place to purchase them theres some good info on the guns like wieght and lenght and stuff. Good luck |
