Just kidding. Actually, I've bought a number of scopes off of e-Bay. Mostly good old timers like Weaver steel K models, the kind made in El Paso TX, and a few steel J-2.5 and J-4's for lightweight rifles.
Have alsobought a few Lyman All-Americans,which were verygood made-in-USA scopes in their day, and still work! Never had a problem. Actually, I've had less adjustment system failures with the older Weavers and Lymans than some of the new ones!
I've also bought reloading dies, presses, powder scales, and bullet casting equipoment off of e-Bay, generally at no more than half of retail price. Some of this reloading stuff was for all intents & purposes, new!
Good luck!!

I bought a Leupold on ebay that was in mint condition for $150 it retails for $399 I used once and noticed it would fog up in the mornings,I missed killing a huge 10 point cause I couldn't see it.
Rather than contacting the seller because 8 months had gone by, I sent it to leupold to get it fix.
2 weeks later they sent me a brand new one.
Most good scopes have a life time warranty.

Which lense fogged up and was it on the inside or outside of the scope???

I've been buying and selling scopes and misc shooting supplies and gun parts on Ebay for years. Good thing about Ebay is feedback. Go for the reliable sellers with plenty good feedback and you won't have a problem. I've found some very good deals.

Yes it is all about the sellers feedback. If like someone said, it is 98% positive then I will usually bid and buy, if there are several negative feedback I will either email the person leaving feedback or see what the squabble was about. Only one time did I never get something shipped. Otherwise, everything came and was as expected.
