I have mine coming in 375H&H as my deer rifle and for use on the odd Buff.
I’m not to sure on the game that you hunt but I would base my choice on what others have suggested and get a 30/06 as with the proper bullet selection it wont do too much damage on the smaller game and it will stop some pretty big animals as well It is one of my favourite calibres.

30-06. Thats what I chose for similar species.

Thanks to all who replied! I think I will purchase the 30-06 version. It was between that and the 270, but I am partial to the .30 caliber. I have always had and hunted with a .308 since I was 15, and I have always loved its performance. Thanks again,

IMO the 30-06 will do for your choice of critters. But then again, so will anything from the 270 on up in the long action. If it comes in a short action then anything from the 270 WSM 7mm-08 up will do nicely.
