Hi Mr. Z:

Is recoil an issue for you in the .280?

no, just curious how much it'll be cut down. i know people with them and say it makes a 270 kick like a 243. that sounds a little on the far side to me. just want to know your experiences. i know it makes it more accurate, thats what caught my attention.

can you install one of these on a browning blr?

If I can interrupt - I have been wondering about the BOSS for some time. Can you describe to me what it is?

Thanks

Beware of anything that may make your rifle louder. I've shot a couple rifles with muzzle brakes that hurt your ears 10X's more than any rifle could hurt your shoulder. I have no use for a rifle that you have to use ear plugs in the field.

I think that answers my question. The BOSS is just a muzzle break?

Actually little more than just a Muzzlebreak. You can actually tune that thing to drop your groups up to 1MOA I have seen.

Trading the little recoil a 30-06 class cartridge has for hearing damage is a poor tradeoff.

I agree completely on muzzle breakes. If it kicks too much down grade your rifle. Most people are over gunned anyway. Muzzle breaks are annoying at best and can severly damage your hearing at worst.

Goodness people, can't you guys just answer the fella's question. I don't like breaks either. But he's the one buying the gun.

To answer the original question, with a BOSS, you probably would get recoil little less than say a 243. The problem I have shooting braked guns is the noise probably makes me flinch more than the kick does.
