Default 16ga making a comeback?

I have a Winchester Model 37 single shot that is 16ga,and I like it.I saw that alot of the major gun companies were offering thier guns in 16ga.Still not a big selection of 16ga shells at the local Wally world though. What do ya'll think? Is it coming back?

I don't know if it was a special buy for Gander Mountain, buttheir store here in Beaumont, Texas had a special deal on Remington 1100s, and they were all 16 ga. They must have had 15 or 20 of them. I can't remember the price, but the sale was $100 off of what the regular price was.

As long as the makers don't do the ungodly deed of simply putting a 16ga barrel on a 12ga reciever...all I can say is I HOPE SO!!!!

I've heard about this comeback for about 10 years now, but have seen no evidence of it. I'll just keep hoping and grabbing up shells whenever I stumble across them.

Well, my Wal-mart doesn't (and hasn't) for a long time...I can't remember ever seeing 16ga there. Even the sporting store in town has about 6boxes of ONE offering. Location Location Location, looks like you've got it and I don't!

I was in the Cabella's in Dundee Mi. last week and they had plenty of 16 guage ammo. I also was in 2 wally worlds in Mi. and both had 16 ga. ammo. Today i was in Ft. Wayne Indianna at a Gander Mountain, and they "also" had plenty of 16 guage ammo.

I saw an absolutely beautiful mauser bolt action 16 gauge last year at a gun show... Passed on it because I didn't know how much slug ammo was available... If it were a 12 or 20 I would have snatched it up in a second.
