RE: Sabot Slugs

Last month I sighted the Horn SST's in my 870 special purpose.
I was very impressed with groups.Recoil wasn't as bad as I was told it would be BUT it did get my attention.

I'm going to load em up for Deer this Sat.Anxious to see performance on Deer. I'm told Hornady will/might introduce a 20g SST this yr? If so I'll be trying them in my 20g H&R.

3" lightfield commanders. used them the first time this year and out of my moss 875 they shoot very well at 100 yrds. at 125 i believe they drop just 2" and at 150 they plummet 7". they go around 465 gr i believe and push around 1800 fps from the muzzle. not expensive either.

They work very well...a number of friends took deer with them(300gr SST's)in their muzzleloaders this year. In fact it is one of the more popular bullets in the Savage smokelesspole.

Jimmy the foot,

The Lightfields sighted in dead center at 100 are -4in at 125yds and -10in at 150yds. Most of the current competitors are closer to -3in at 150yds.
