.5mm Ammo Wanted
#1
I have a Remington .5mm Mag in mint condition and am beginning to run out of shells. Does anyone know where I can get some? This is a great coyote and fox gun and would hate to have to convert it to centerfire.

Hi Wis:
I found some on the SASS Wire www.sassnet.com. Some periodically shows up for sale. There was a guy that had a bunch in the blue/white boxes and the green/yellow boxes. He was asking (and getting) $60/box of 50.

Last time I saw any, it was $75/box, and that was a few months ago at a gun show. Winchester usually makes a run every couple of years, or at least they used to.
I would contact this company and see if it is available, and what the price is. Good luck

Are there any gun shows coming to your area? They can be a source, as ammo collectors are usually there also. Some of the gun papers on the market often carry ads from people in this line (Gun List, etc.).
Do you have any local small papers in your area, such as trader's guides and such? It usually doesn't cost much to run an ad in them, and you never know what you may find. Just a few suggestions, and wish you good luck. Perhaps some of the other good people on here can help-----

Wow guys and girls!!! Didnt expect that kind of response. I know they can be pretty high in cost since they stopped making the .5mm I think back in 1974 or around there. I know there were roughly 15,000 sold totalby Remington. I have found all the centerfire conversion kits and brass, bullets, dies, etc, but I dont use the gun enough to convert it especially when converting costs more than the gun is worth. Ill look at the sites you guys and gals listed and see what I can find. I have a buddy in Kentucky who thinks he may beable to get a box of shells for around $20.00-$40.00 Hes goign to look today. Thanks again.

I got rid of mine because I had nothing with trouble with one extractor after another...and the shells were hard to find.
I will say that it was a groundhog master.
If you go to Gunsamerica.com...there's some for sale there. I think it's $250 for 6 boxes of 50. OUCH
