I like Wipe out.....spray it in.....wait 1 hour.....jag with patches. The more you use it the easier it gets. I also run a brush (20 strokes) with Butch's bore shine every 3d time or so. Rifles shoot better and last longer when cleaned. Also, get a bore guide....Stoney point makes a good one for 23 bucks or so.....get at Midway or natches.....well worth the money. Regards, Rick.

I don't clean my rifle after every time I shoot it .After I sight it in for the up coming season I leave it as is until the season's over ,then I clean it . If you ever notice after cleaning you'll show a little inconsistant shooting and the more you shoot it the better it will become .

Once a year I remove the moly from the bore and re-apply it. Bullets are mollyed as well. Other than that, I just clean the action.

disassemble, spray with cleaning solution, wipe down, run a boar snake through barrel twice, that thing cuts down your cleaning time a lot and works great. picked mine up at the local hunting good store. last but not least i wipe it down with a scentless lube oil. not to thick but just right. takes me about ten minutes to do a gun and i always clean after i shoot, especially the barrel.

That is true with some but not all rifles.My own rifles shoot just as consistant with a clean barrel as with a fouled barrel.

Stubblejumper-- I've come to the conclusion that what you said about fouled barrels vs. clean ones is possibly a result of the way they were broken in. What do you think?

I can't say about the effect of breaking a barrel in vs clean bore accuracy,but all of my barrels are broken in by cleaning every shot for the first 5 to 10 shots then every three for the next 15 or so shots.Then again,all of my hunting rifles have high quality aftermarket barrels.

To thoroughly clean a barrel I find it necessary to first use a good powder solvent such as Shooter's Choice, MPro-7, TM Solution, etc... followed by a good copper solvent such as Barnes CR-10, Wipeout,KG-12 or Montana Extreme 50BMGto namea few. However, I don't always clean for both types of fouling when I do clean. If the rifle is shooting okay I may not bother cleaning the copper fouling. Of course, if the rifle is shooting fine I guess it wouldn't really be necessary to cleanthe bore at all. I guess the best advice I could give is to shoot your rifleuntil you become familiar with it enough to know when and how often it needs a thorough cleaning. Personally, I find that I don't clean mine nearly as much as I used to. It's just not necessary.
