Default weatherby vangaurd

I am thinking of getting a new rifle and the vangaurd is on the top of my list in the stainless/synthetic model. I was just wondering if anyone here has one or has tried one out and if they are any good. I have heard some bad stuff about the trigger also .

I think they are a good rifle and worth the money. I have never had a Vanguard but have had several Howa's which I think makes the Vanguard. Most of today's rifles need trigger work. I think you would be well served by the Vanguard. I just looked at rifles and picked the Savage with accutrigger.

I bought a synthetic/blue Vanguard several years ago in 300 Wby Mag. Trigger pull is a little stiff, but not unreasonable. Shot 1.5" out of the box with factory ammo, as advertised. No beauty, but lives up to its' claims. No complaints, considering what you pay at Wally-World for them, on sale. Iff'n you reload, ammo cost comes down considerably if you shoot any amount at all. Go for it.

The Howas and vanguards are incredibly good buys. THe old triggers were a bit on the 'bad' side but they have a new trigger for 2005 and it is 100% better than the old trigger system. The new triggers are much better than a Remington or Winchester straight out of the box now.

I wan down to Savage or Weatherby Vanguard, I chose Savage. Vanguards are a good gun but I liked the accu-trigger on the Savage and a 1.5 MOA gurantee isn't that good, most Savages shoot better, and I got it with a cheapo scope and sling for $400.

I have the SS vanguard in .338 WM. It is a nice gun and shoots well like advertised. Yes the trigger on mine is not the best and you can only do so much to it. For about the same price I picked up a savage tactical .308 with the LE accu trigger. The accu trigger is by far the best factory trigger on the market.Either one you won't go wrong.
