Does anyone own one of these bad boys or know anyone. I want to get one. Just wondering what some of you heard about performance?

Do a simple search using Google....you will find plenty of info.

Some people love em..some hate em....no big surprise there...

sure you can buy one. It's nothing more that a bolt action rifle. I had one several years ago in .308 w/ Badger Ordinance rings & base, Vari-X III Tactical 4.5-14X50 side focus w/ 30mm tube.
It shot great, same hole at 100yds all day long. I got bored with it & sold it.

my friend had one...well...it was a 700PSS...few years earlier...his was chambered in 308.....shot pretty good but nothing AWESOME.....but he also probaly burnt the barrel out of it....we would sit there with it and a case of ammo and just shoot till our shoulders were sore.....that heavy barrel got HOT and STAYED hot.......his gun.....his ammo.....i didnt care if he didnt care! lol kinda big and bulky.....but i guess thats why its a "police sharp shooter" not made to be light.....

They're not bad rifles, but I don't think that they are any nicer than the standard 700s. They are just heavier, and thus probably a little steadier from a good rest.

If you want a nice bolt gun like that I would suggest the Savage with the tactical McMillan stock. Its a nice gun with the accu-trigger and you can get them for well under $1000.

Yes it actually was.Well, mine was atleast. I was shooting it at 100 yds one day and my dad walks over & says "That p.o.s. ain't even hit'n the paper." I said,"They are going in the same hole you dummy".And honestly, you could cover a 3shot group with a dime. At guess my farthest shots were about 500m at English Range, Ft. Benning GA. I ended up selling it to a soldier out there one day that saw me shooting it. I got $1400 for the complete rig.
