Default rem 700adl

Hey all,
When i bought my first rifle a coupla years ago i had little to spend.I went with the rem 700 adl in .300win mag. I would like to get a wood stck for it and was wondering if I could buy one with a floorplate and have it work on my rifle. Any suggestions about good aftermarket wood stocks would help alot also.
Thanks All
Nathan

I would advise you to check in Gun List, Gun Broker, etc. for stocks. They can be readily available at times. The floorplate hardware, magazine follower and spring are also available from sources in these publications, as well. Gun dealers and gunsmiths in your area are also a good source of help. This is a basic "drop-in" procedure with factory wood, however a good metal-to-wood going over is probably needed.
Do it.

yeah, I like those laminate stocks myself. Definatly get the floorplate. I wish my 30-06 adl had it. EJ

The simplest way to do this is just buy a factory Remington BDL stock and the bottom metal. Install it and whala.

Yes it's that simple. The receivers are exactly the same and they use the same magazine boxes inside the stocks. The only differance is that one has a solid wood bottom and the other has it cut out for bottom metal.

Yeh--- you're right. I guess I just took it for granted that it was understood that a BDL stock and floorplate, magazine follower and spring was what was needed for the transformation. Shame on me.

Big thanks to all that replied.
Can't wait to get started on my "rifle" project-if you call this a project.
