Default what would you buy.

I am i big fan of hunting with open sights and i was thinking about buying a new rifle. The caliber will either be a 243 or a 25-06, Because it will never be used to shoot anything bigger than a deer. you don't realy need anything bigger than that anyways. The only thing i don't know is what brand of rifle to buy. Money is realy no problem so what do you think i should buy.

go with the 25-06, it will let you load up some heavier rounds than the 243. not saying there is something wrong with the 243 at all.... they are both great.

Check the CZ rifles...they have a few Iron-sighted models I believe at sub-Winchester/Remington prices.

For a deer rifle i'd take the 25-06 without question. As to what rifle, you never said how much your budget is???????????

Flip a coin. I would look at the Sakos and Steyrs. They have both SS or Blue, Woodor ...ug Synthetic stocks. They both have models with excellent open sights.....andthey also have their own scope mount systems that are superior to most other off the wall stuff.......you will need a scope when you get older![&:]Then I would put a Zeiss Conquest variable power scope on it for a rifle that will outlast you and yours. Regards, Rick.

For a 243 or 25-06's potential you need a scope. An animal deserves your best shot and a scope allows that, especially at the ranges that these cartridges can perform at.

I just bought a Remington 700 CDL in 243 that will absolutly shoot the lights out. I topped it off with a Nikon Buckmaster 4-14X scope. I believe that i did not make amistake with any ofmy decisions.Everything said and done was around $1000.
