I'd go w/ the 25-06. You have the 300's already so you wont use it for elk(niether are great for elk, adequate at best). BUT the 25-06 is a great varmit rifle also.

I would go 25-06. It happens to be one of the "magic cartridges" that shouldnt be real accurate, but are real accurate, like the 300 Win Mag. The 25-06 is a very good varmint to deer caliber. Did I mention they are generally very accurate?

I'd go with the .25-06 - or the .25 WSSM. Same ballistics - smaller cartidge, but more rifle choices. That seems to be the downfall of the .25-06 - lack of rifle choices (at least in what I want). Either way - you wont be dissappointed.
