I was wondering if anyone here owns or has any experience with this rifle. I'm thinking about either a Remington 700 ADL or the Mossberg. I held both and they both feel really good. I've had experience with the Remington and I am not too sure if I want to try something new. Any thoughts would be great. And the rifle is going to be used only for Whitetail under 250yds. It's also going to bein chambered in 270. Thanks

I think if you do a search through the forums, you'll find a lot of positive comments on the Mossberg ATR.
Consensus is that it's a much, much better rifle than the Remington 710, and competitive with more expensive rifles such as the Rem.700 ADL or Savage 110.
I've handled one, and was impressed with the quality. I'd buy one if they made a left-handed version of it.

Yeah, right now there are sales everywhere for 700 ADL's for 300 to 320 and the extra 50 to 70 bucks is worth it. I would like to try the ATR, I have heard good things from those who have them and bad things from those who dont have them. I am sure they are fine. EJ

I have found the ADL here for $279 and the Mossberg is like $229. But I've also been hearing great things about the Savage rifles. I am not really on a budget but don't want to spend alot more than $500. So I am going to be hitting the shops here this week and seeing what handles and feels right to me. But thanks for all the advice.

FWIW, I personally would much rather have the Mossy ATR 100 than the Remington 700 ADL based upon the stock alone. The Mossberg stock is much stiffer in the forearm than the Remington.
The trigger is nicer as well.
YMMV
Edit: and you're gonna have to buy a base for the Remington, the Mossy comes with bases.
