nothing................everything...............he ll if it bleeds try shooting something with it. I mean come on, youre a smart kid!!!! Its a deer rifle, some use it for Elk, Moose, Bear, whatever. Sorry for the smart a$$ reply but read all of the posts in here, the 270 is a versitile gun that has killed most anything in North America.

Heres a tip if you dont know enough about your caliber.

Buy the book " Cartridges of the world". Its a great book witheasy access to a lot of loads. Frank Barnes was editor in my old edition but I think he has passed away. (My sincere appologies if Im mistaking).
Maybe it is a good gift to your uncle for cristmas.

Just about anything with four legs and antlers. I know a few hunters that use a 243 to hunt deer. So i I 243 is good enough I am sure any of htebigger cals are good enough. I love my 7mm but the bullets are expensive and no further than I shoot (100 yards) if I knew all that before I bought my 7mm, I woul dhave bought a 243.

ANYTHING in North America, and most African plains game, if you use the right bullet and can shoot!
