.338 UM
Does anyone recommend the .338 UM for an all-around big game rifle. This means the lower-48, AK, and possibly Africa. For the record I am not the least recoil sensitive. How would the recoil be compared to a .340 Weatherby? Any info would be appreciated.

Actually I was thinkin about loadin it with a 180 grain ballistic tip and tryin it on whitetails and black bear. But I was also wanderin if the ballistic tip would hold together. I think it would, whats your opinion.

I had one. and don't have it any more.
just to much kick..it's a lot more then my 375 hh.
and it did not shoot that good,2 inch groups at 100.
the way i see it if my 300 win can shoot less then
a 1 inch group then the 338 um should.
the 340 Weatherby kicks about the same.
and the amo is the same 50 bucks a box.
