well my buddies dad used one last year with the 750 gr. bullet and all i have to say is OVERKILL... honestly the damage done was grose.. nothing left.. he hit the shoulder of the deer and literally took both shoulders with it on the exit.. bone and meat and everything else was everywhere.. looked like something from a war movie..

I saw a video of a U.S. sniper kill in Afghanistan. The guy's rag came off his head and went flying in one direction, an arm in the other. Utterly devasting hit.
The BMG round was designed to shoot down aircraft and stop vehicles, so yeah, it's a little overkill on game.

my buddy shot one with his barret at about 350 yards. He was using the exploding incinerary tips so when that thing hit the deer it just went into a big fireball. Lets just say he didnt have to gut it because there were no guts left.

Haha ....Rebel I love your attachments, they've sent me rolling more than once. Here's what I think. At a 1/2 to one mile the only thing it would do to the elk/deer is give them a decent chance at another day to go about there business. The 50BMG isn't that insn't exactly flat shooting (if you zero at 1Km its 112"low at 1200!) Most sportsmen, myself certainly included, are not capable of lugging a 30lbs gun during a stalk and then getting sub 1MOA accuracy AND having the range dead on.
Lets say you hit the thing...ever shoot a watermelon with a .300?

well im not lieing they do make an incinerary tip for the 50bmg. its a little red tip on the end of the bullet that explodes into a big firball upon contact. We shot alot at them at metal groundhog plates just to watch the fireball. But i dont care if you believe me or not but im not lieing.
