They ARE heavy, too me they feel around 8. For a synthetic that isn't light but alot of guys complain about syns being too light so heres your cake. If you want ULTRALIGHT then look too the Finnlight. If you want the weight and mass of wood without giving up the all weatherness of the composite then look too the 75 syn/SS. The Grey Wolf feels even heavier!!!

Handwerk.....
My M75 SSisnt in a short mag but on a magnum legnth action chambered in 375 H&H, like Red stated...they are not light.
This rifle weighs in at 9lbs 14 ozs with a Zeiss Diavari VM/V 3x12 sitting in Leupold 30mm rings. The shorter WSM action will shave a few ounces but not much. The weight helpson this gun and can say this gun is a joy to shoot.Oh, and it does shoot under MOA @ 100 yards!

Handwerk,
I have the Sako (SM) 75 Synthetic S/S in a 270 WSM and this rifle c/w the Optilock base & rings , 4-12 x 50 mm Swarovski scope and NO sling, NO bullets comes in at 8-3/4 lb..
Now for the heck of it I decided to weight my other Sako. This is a Sako (III) 75 Synthetic S/S in a 7 mm-08 and this rifle c/w the Conetrol bases and rings 3-10 x 42 mm Swarovski scope and NO sling, NO bullets comes in at 8-1/2 lb..
My scale might be out a touch but this will give you an idea on how much the rifle weight with both short actions and different length barrels.
