RE: Those poor misguided 223 guys
How about this. Seems he doesn't like the .223 at all. 5 posts, and the last one had the exact same title. INTERESTING

Yeah, I saw you were on that topic at the same time I was. I clicked on his name and saw that there was another thread with the same name. I think we are talking to a wall now if we try to talk to him, lol.

As a coyote hunter I constantly run a crossed want a be coyote hunters. Those are the guys who think the rifle for the hunt is a 223. I feel sorry for them as they either can’t read or are too stupid to understand a basic ballistic chart. The only caliber is a 22-250. It greatly surpasses a 223, not even close. So for all you guys heading out the door for the first time coyote hunt be one step ahead of the “poor 223 guys”!

The 222 is about 200 fps max behind the 223. Both are suitable for the same kind of hunting. Being a military round with tons of surplus brass pushed the 223 to surpass the 222 in popularity. Many hunters in years past used the 222 for a first rifle for both varmits and deer. It was the minimum caliber allowed in our state for many years. It should only be used on big game by those who shoot very well and are willing to pass on any and all iffy shots. I would consider the 223 or 222 100 yard MAX cartridges for smaller deer.

RE: Those poor misguided 223 guys
I agree with everyone that brusser is the poor misguided one. I have shot pry 100 or more yotes with a .223. I have 2 22-250's and they are decent for coyote but the only benefit is the extra yardage which if your good you dont need. alot of mine i didnt even need a .223 i've shot them with a 22lr and it workes just as well and especially if you actually use the yote (as in skinning it to sell) the 223 is alot better cause a 250 leave a lot of work to be done when skinning as where a 223 makes work eaisier.
