skeet/turkey gun
#1
Went to the National hunting and fishing days this weekend in WV. Shot skeet for the first time and it was a blast.
Now I would like to get an inexpensive gun that would work well for both skeet and Turkey. since all i had this year for turkey this yearwas a 30-30 I think now it's time to pick up a shot gun.
I'd like it in a 20 ga because I'd like my daughter to be able to use it within the next few years
What do you suggest?

Anything with screw in chokes so you can change them from one to the other. I would look at an remington 870 or mossberg 500. I like the mossberg better in the youth model my self.
A wing master will have a smoother pump if you don't mind spending the extra money
Or you can get either gun with optional barrels and swap them out for different seasons.
You could do the same with a H&R.
Keep in mind with your daughter that good turkey loads kick!
My Mossberg 12 gauge youth model was ported as well.
The Nova's are really nice as well, but they rattle a bit. I hear it's an easy fix however. And the barrels are more expensive.
Plenty of auto loaders that work well too if you have the money.

Danny, you can shoot skeet with what ever choke you
want, but it is normally shot with no chokeconstriction,
called Cylinder Bore. Some hunters like Modified,
Full or Extra Full for turkey, depends on the yardage
you are going to be taken turkey. There are good
adjustable chokes in the market.Titan Adjustable
Choke Tube
Start her with a Rem 870 20ga and then if she shows
interest, go to an auto.

Thanks for the input. looks like there are at least several good choices. Not really looking for a youth gun just something I can use now for skeet/turkey and something she can use if she wants to skeet shoot down the road.
That skeetshooting was an aweful lot of fun this weekend

I was just figuring if you were thinking in terms of your daughter the youth gun might fit her better. And the mossbergs are a bit better in the youth department because of the demensions. The pumps is actually closer to the reciever on them, not just a shortened stock. You didn't mention her age or size though. I was thinking small kid.
To be honest I would get a 12 guage if your going to turkey hunt and just use low powered loads when shooting skeet.
Or just get her her own gun, like a H&R single shot or something to start out with. I think you can find them under 100 bucks sometimes and they shoot just fine.

You simply turn the collar and "click" it into position. The choke also provides a 2" extension to your shotgun barrel. Choke settings are laser engraved and the Titan is compatible with all waterfowl loads including steel and Hevi-Shot.When using steel, tungsten, or Hevi-Shot the preferred settings are "cylinder" through "light modified".
