RE: POI changed?

ORIGINAL: StrutnBPS

Everyone seems to be ignoring this statement made in the original post.

[blockquote]quote:

The scope hasn't moved b/c I also shot a few regular 130gr. Power Points that I keep with me for yotes. These still hit in the same place as they did last year. [/blockquote]

If the poi has not changed at all for one load, the difference has to be the other load.Bedding or scope problems would effect both loads.

Thank you for that point! Like I said, I have about a half of box of 130gr PP's left from last year that I bought just foryotes. They hit in the same place as last year. Its just the accubonds that have changed. And again the bullets are grouple extremly well, just the POI is a little off. I bought the bullets a year a part and from two different stores. Thanks for the info.the lot # thing, i knew nothing about. Those bullets are $25.00/box so it kinda hard to buy stock these days.[:@]

Vapor, last tasco I got was when I was a kid, it was junk. But not the top of the line. Probably bottom of the line, think it was a pronghorn or something simpler. I went to Bass Pro and looked at some world class's and they didn't hold a candle to a conquest. Didn't pass any of my tests.

American rifleman has a nifty resolution chart in there last issue. hang that bad boy up across a store and set your top of the line tasco on the same power as a VXIII or Conquest and look at the target, then find a dark hole, shelfs work great for this. see if you can read something in it with all scopes. What you are looking for is a strong contrast, like looking in a cave on a bright day. This will tell you some light characteristics. Also look at few different of the same brand. Some will be better than others. Most stores frown on this. But its all about yield.
BigCountry, I would really like it if you posted this on the other thread about cheap scopes. It did not answer any of my questions and takes up my time reading it. I gave the cheap scope bid a rest, so at least do it in my posts. Thanks.

By the time your post got read, It got how many responses that had nothing to do with my question?
Oh yeah, I also did that little test with my scope and I didn't have any problems. Thanks again.

Sorry strut, hope you forgive me. Just trying to help in a field I know something a thing or two about. Why are you coming down so hard on me? Was this that bad of an offense to accidently scan one of your messages? Whats the deal man? Sorry,I can't abide by your demands. It is an open forum. Just the way it is. Sorry I didn't answer the original question, but its not uncommon for questions tomorph. Just the way forums work man.

RE: POI changed?

Yes it is an open forum. If you read your orginal bit on this post, it has nothing to do with what I asked. And I honestly feel that your comments were coming over from the other thread about cheap scopes. If you were to have not read the ten or so pages that have been beat to death about it, then yes, I would see where your comment would have been valid.

I think we have all read your arguement of why you must pay $600-$1,000 to get a good scope. I just see nothing valid in your reponse to my question. Its kinda like this I feel if you don't have any knowledge of what I asked, then don't use a post of mine to rack up your post count. I know that this isn't MY forum, but if you read enough you will see that just about EVERY post, by the 3rd response, the whole posthas nothing to do with the orginal one and the orginalposter hasn't learned a thing.Example, look atthis one...first two are three responses were just what I asked. Then read the replies after yours. It totally turned the post back into a "Cheapscope" post. I am sure others that ask questions feel the same, they just don't say anything about it. If you notice theres a couple of here that has even thanked people for answering their questions and not carrying on.

I have no problems with anyone on this forum. I think theres a wealth of knowledge on here and have already learned a thing or two.Just wish that people having no valid knowledge of what they post on would not waste our time.[&:]

Now that the childs play is out of the way.

I went out today to shoot. One click to the right and two cliks up fixed the problem. Thanks for the help.

RE: POI changed?

Strut to be honest with you, I can't recall your post on cheap scopes or remember you.Sorry, I remember talking to vapor mainly on the matter. There are so many struts, it impossible to keep track of them or bigcountry's as there is alot of those also, so I am very surprised you remember me. I talk to several struts on several forums. And really can't remember talking to you. I just simply scaned your message rather quickly, and saw a POI change. Stubble brought it out to me, and I replied, your right, very simple mistake.

You must have not totally wasted your time, you took the time to try the tests I mentioned to vapor and said no problem found, which I am not sure is you compared them to others and found yours superior or what. And that can be a rather time consuming test. Sorry, I have not ever helped you, maybe I can help youin the future or you help me understand a thing or too. I am sure open to knowledgeable posts.

RE: POI changed?

I done that "test" when I bought my scope. Not after I read your post.

I did not have a post on "cheap scopes" It was the post on "why pay so much for a scope" or something like that. And it wasn't mine either, it was someone else's, but the point was made.

And if i am not mistaken you PMed me about another post that got out of hand about you callling me a liar about my shooting. I will go back and check to see if it was you, if it wasn't then I appoligize. If it was then no offense, but you may be some memory problems b/c this was just a week or so ago.

But anyways. Problem fixed. So next thread.

Welp, I checked my inbox. If your name is Mark then yup. It was you.

But it doesn't matter. Good Lord's will, I will wake up in the morning and so will you. So no harm done.
