Looking for some suggestions on ammo for 243 win. I will be using the 243 for deer hunting and would like to hear from users of the 243 on deer their thoughts on bullet weight, design, manufacturer. I don't reload, so I will be purchasing factory ammo. Any suggestions will be a great help......

get Remington, Federal, Winchester, or Hornady 100 grain soft points.....makes little difference whose...it don't take a lot to kill deer if you do your part and if you don't a much more expensive bullet won't help.

Z is right. However if you must use the varmit rifle then take Rebel Hogs advice. The Nosler 100 grains are all pretty good bullets. The 95 Grain Ballistic tip should work well also.

Okay let me get this straight. I have a Ruger M77 synthic stainless bolt action 243. It is a great all around deer rifle. Me and my dad have killed some of the biggest bucks with it. Just make sure you shoot a 100 grain Winchester Supreme failsafe.

After owning at least half a dozen 243's I'd have to say overall the most accurate deer load I've used in any is the Federal premium 100 gr. Nosler Partition. This load was very accurate in all but 1 rifle I owned and it will take deer cleanly.

I knew you enjoyed them arguments Z
