If you use the right bullet, you won't have any problem knocking down a big whitetail with a .243

This question has been asked and answered many times over. As for the answers the opinion differs at times greatly.

the combined Technology Nosler/Winchester 95 gr bullet is superb. My .243 Sako loves them and the deer are graveyard dead out to 350 yards.....just fact. Regards, Rick.

buuuuuttt... to answer the question. the .243 is a fine deer cartridge andit happens to bemy go to gun.

With well constructed hunting bullets of 100 gr. the .243/6mm is a great minimum caliber for any whitetail deer! When I say "great minimum,"I mean just that! It does an excellent job on deer sized game, not just an iffy, bare minimum!

The .243 is totally and completely adequate for deer and pronghorns. Some folks even use it on elk.....

Guys, don't fall for it. Has to be a joke. Anyone that would ask such a question in such a way is just trying get a responce. And if he is serious, shouldn't be deer hunting.

Pull up his profile and read some of his other posts and you might not be so sure about this guy.His post whining about being scared of the woods at night is a real gem.
