Default Remington SPS

Newbire posting but have been lurking for a few months. Good information.

I was looking at the Remington SPS stainless. Good sale price at Gander Mtn.
From what I have read the SPS is taking the place of the 700 BDL synthetic.
Any thoughts pro or con?

You are correct. It replaced the ADL Synthetic. In my expierence they are a good value. Strong and accurate.

Changed intials, differentstock and addition of the sims limsaver recoil pad (R3) - other than that your correctsame as700 BDL SS Syth.

I haven't had any problems with the 700's I have owned. Some were extremely accurate while other required some tweaking to get the best out of them. Same can be said with other brandsI have owned. Lots of good choices, just find the one that fits you best and go have some fun.

I thought the SPS was taking the place of the ADL, not the BDL?

From Remingtons website.

Built to carry on the tradition of the Model 700 BDLâ„¢ Stainless Synthetic, the Model 700 SPS Stainless is leading the way for the next generation of hard-hitting, fully featured, affordable priced rifles.

The SPS may well have been introduced to replace the "BDL stainless synthetic" model....but it is also the replacement for the ADL. The matte-finish SPS, that is.

That would be correct. The SPS replaced the ADL. But the SPS Stainless/synthetic replaced the BDL.

I just bought one (sps)in a 22/250,a few weeks ago,had to send it back because the locking lugs were off ,I got it back close to a week later and it really shoots well,Been workingon a 55 gr load (still working on one) but shot a 5 shot group (50 gr v-max,with it at 300 yds that measure 2 inches,so that isn't bad for a factory rifle.Afriend of mine did bed the stock though.
Ordered a better scope for it friday, should get it this week then I can get serious with it.I paid $410 for it here so that makes it a little higher than the adl,but I like then a lot better than the adl.

I guess picking one up for $319 was a pretty decent deal. I usually think about it too long but this time I only thought about it for a few hours.
