My trigger is horrible on my marlin. Almost 7lbs and has creep. Does anyone know of aftermarket trigger sear engagements? I have had bad luck stoning marlins before well the 10/22 that is and ended up having to get a power custom titanium set. But I can't find anyone that has the setup for 1895. I figure they don't since brownells don't list anything.

Just found one from midwayusa from WildWest. It says gunsmithing required. Anyone know what they mean. I will call Wild West tomorrow and see what they mean.

BC - I'm sure you have a bad taste in your mouth from the 10-22 trigger project, but these really aren't too bad to stone and tune. Any experienced gunsmith should beable togetit to a nice crisp 3 lbs.

Wish I could tell you, BC. I couldn't coax the gunsmith I knew into working on mine! It was bad enough I sold it off and went to a Ruger 1. Would like to know how this works out.

Roskoe every smith around here wants over 100 dollars for a trigger job. They said its trial and error. I believe them. They said they have to disassemble and hone and stone and put back together. Not sure about that. I might trackle it myself with the Wild West package.

Yes - it is a lot of assembly/disassembly. I think the first one I did took almost three hours. Can usually do them in about 1/2 that much time now. A jig helps.

You might do well with the aftermarket setup from Wild West - in the very worst case secnario, you could just put the factory parts back in and be no worse off than you are now . . . .

I did the trigger on mine and I never had worked on a gun in my life. I thought it was pretty easy and it is a 200% improvment. I don't know maybe I got lucky. My brother did it also and he is all thumbs

Just to clarify I replaced the trigger with the wild west set up. And that is what I was saying is pretty easy .

RJH, did you have to do any modifications? Wild West said most might not. They said to accomidate the hammer.

No I didn't do any modification it went right in I don't know if the age of the gun has any thing to do with it. Mine is 7 mos. old . It was pretty easy I think I googled it and found some step by step directions . It makes a huge difference it feels like a 3# trigger,breaks clean. I also put the new ejector in it. I strongly recomend the triger.
