Get rid of surface rust on my barrel?
I accidentally left my pellet gun outside all night long. I was shooting, and I got a phone call, so I propped it up against my trash barrel and went to the other end of the yard to get signal. I had to leave and I forgot all about it. So it stayed out all night in the dew but no rain. No the barrel and cocking lever are covered in surface rust. Its not hurt, it still shoots fine but it gets all over you and its just ugly.

RE: Get rid of surface rust on my barrel?
if its real bad id take some mild steel wool and saturate it with some rem oil and lightly rub the rusted surface or if its not too bad I will saturate the surface of where the rust is with rem oil let it set for few minutes (about 5minutes) then rub the spot vigerously with moderate pressure with a silicone cloth untill the rust rubs away. good luck

Blue Wonder™ Gun Cleaner will also remove rust from the exterior finish of a gun - and it will not harm or affect the existing bluing! Rust is iron “oxide” and it is affected in the same way as the copper and lead oxides. Simply use the cleaner with “0000” steel wool or a soft brass brush and the rust will be removed and the bluing unharmed.
