RE: Slug Guns
the first thing you need to concider is range, how far will your shots be??the rifled barrel and sabot slugs are great for extended ranges, over 100 yards.but rifled barrels and sabots are not cheap.if your shots are limmited to under 100 yards in thick country(or open) then the smooth bore is great and alot cheaper to shoot.as far as using a short deer barrel on rabbits, your better off sticking with a 28 inch modified choke barrel for rabbits.the short imp. cyl. barrel will have a very wide(to wide)pattern at anything more then 10 yards.12 or 20,its a matter of preference.both will work, personaly i prefer the 12.

RE: Slug Guns
The new sabot slugs, such as the Winchester Partition Gold, make a rifled-barrel shotgun into a big bore rifle which is the equivalent of a .45/70! These are SO MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE than a Foster-type smoothbore slug gun that there is no comparison whatsoever!!
