But i don't even know if i could install the Timney myself, never done anything and i'd want to try it, but definately don't want to ruin anything.

A trigger job will usually cost between $30 and $50 depending on where you go. Since you would probably have a timney installed by a gunsmith as well that would add about 30 bucks to the cost of the trigger. So you are looking at maybe $50 for a trigger job and about $80 - $90 for a Timney installed.

A savage trigger can definetly be made to feel every bit as good as a Timney provided you use a compitent gunsmith.

Now that's what i like to hear! I think i may seriously consider buying this rifle. 300 dollar gun with scope with 50 dollars for a trigger. Not bad at all

The Timney is incredibly easy to install per the packaged instructions. I would have completed the instalation in less than 10min had my trigger not been a touch too long (it would touch the trigger gaurd). A simple file is all that was needed to shorten the length to fit properly in the trigger gaurd. The cost was 58$ shipped.
My local gunsmith wanted over 65$dollars to work on the factory trigger. When he would have been done with it, he was of the belief it should no longer be adjusted afterward.
With the Timney I can of course still make any adjustments I would want.
As I mentioned the deciding factor is really what YOUR gunsmith would charge, and of course your level of trust in his abilities to the job correctly.

i don't know anything about the savage or timney triggers but i had a trigger job done on my win. 94. the gun smith took it down from 8#s with a ton of creep to 2 or 2.5#'s with no creep for i think $25. i'm really glad i did. it made a ton of a difference in group sizes.
