Did you know?

I just learned that all 17HMR ammo is made by CCI. No matter what color the tip or what is on the box it is all made by CCI.

Buy the cheapest cause it's all the same.

I thought this was interesting.

I heard the same sort of thing concerning Remington's V-max, 33gr. ammo for the 22mag. rimfire. I don't really care. It shoots so good in my Ruger 77/22 target rifle, and the crows really don't like it :D

RE: Did you know?

I was reading an article about the 22wmr vs. the 17hmr. According to the author all 17's are all made by CCI.

I emailed CCI and asked them if this is true. I should hear back in a few days.

Not exactly earth shattering news but I thought it was an interesting tid bit to pass along.

RE: Did you know?

That might explain it. I’ve tried two different brand of bullets with the same result.

Brand doesnt matter when it comes to testing ammo. CCI makes alot of the HMR ammo but remington makes their own.

RE: Did you know?

I seem to remember that from an article i read right after it came out. That had to do with why it was so hard to find ammo for the first spring/summer. I have noticed that some guns prefer one bullet to the other (v-max vs tnt) two friends, near consecutive serial #'s on identical guns and one wants v-max's and the other tnt's. We haven't tried the game tip yet.

Well, its quite possible. I just see so many people getting totally different groups with the different brands out there. Wonder if its lot to lot or maybe each manufacturer has thier own specs to meet?
