Default Ultramax remanufactured ammo

I found some of the rounds hard to chamber.

They were for my 223 Remington; the load was 50 grain nosler ballistic tips.

Anyone had any experience? Maybe Remington is trying to tell me to stick to their brand.

I have shot their .45 ammo. I found it to be inaccurate but that was when I was just learning how to shoot my handgun. I am gonna try it again someday for a better review.

not bad stuff for reman ammo, but for reman ammo my first choice would have to be black hills

I would look on that box real close. Make sure it is .223 Remington, not 5.56 NATO. That could (and has for me) mean all the difference in the world. It has to do with what standard the ammo is manufactured to. 5.56 ammo will fire in .223 Rem chambers, but will cause some problems when trying to eject the round. Also look at the cases. If there is a mix of military and commercial brass, that could be a problem too. There shouldn't be much difference in pressure between all the commercial brass, but there is a considerable difference between commercial brass, and military brass. It is enough to cause pressures to jump quite high and cause problems.

I have found it inconsistant and have heard that people have seen high pressure signs when using it. I never have had a problem but I don't trust is.

I shoot ultramax 45gr tnt hollowpoints out of my heavy-barrelled t/c encore. I have had nothing but good luck with this ammo so far. It shoots consistent sub 1" five shot groups at 100yds. They also do a number on anything you shoot with them.

I took my problem back to the seller, and it is really looking like a rifle problem at this point.

I had not seen the Nosler ballistic tip in action before, and it was impressive. Like a little piece of artillery. When I finally get this together, it will be interesting to see what it does at 200, which is typically my max range opportunity in the cornfield hills.

I picked up 500 rounds of 180 grn .40 S&W from Cabelas. It shot half descent. I had no problems with it. But a friend of mine warned that he got some of the same in .45 ACP and half of the box failed to fire.

sounds like that would be more of weak hammer spring to me, I had a similar problem with their 38's turn out to be the hammer spring, I talked to a rep at ultra max they said they use either winchester or cci primers those are the two hardest primers around especially the cci primers, My revolver shoots winchester ammo without a hitch but when I started handloading I used cci primers in my loads and the same problem began all over again I changed out the hammer spring and now it shoots the cci primers with no problems.
