RE: How the .243 stacks up (part deux)
I killed 6 axis deer in the past 3 years with a .222, at a 100 yds the little pill is delivery around 2600 fps and 750 lbs of energy, and it was very affective. According to infinity and quickload, your original numbers from federal are very unlikely. With a good velocity of 2950fps from a 100gr SBT gameking, you will probably see 42" of winddrift and about 3" more drop at 500. Thats iwth a scope mounted 1.5". |

RE: How the .243 stacks up (part deux)
Do you have more high end calculators? Or just free based internet calcs?
You really don't get much better as far as accuracy than these two. I am not doing anything with the numbers. Just plugging in 2950fps, and 1.5" scope hieght and 3oclock 10mph crosswind. You got to be careful going to federal and remington. They are there to make you feel good about a purchase. By the way, why is it so important for you to have these numbers come out on top? I mean if you happy, then go for it. |

Oops, I meant 21.31" of drift and 42.18" of drop with 200 yard zero. Guess I am the dufis.
Look at the tables again. Number right on. |
RE: How the .243 stacks up (part deux)
No... no calling names, etc.... I just think the political correctness on this board has gone too far... as I said before, if you were offended by my post I apologize. But, I think the most offensive part of the entire thread is that a couple of adults sank to the level of picking on a high school kid. He's a teenager, what’s your excuse??? With an attitude like yours it’s no wonder why some young people get discouraged from hunting/shooting. As for you finding me offensive, I can tell you that through my work in the medical field and as part of clinical nursing practicum I have worked both with Special Olympics and with the mentally handicapped... so if you really want to act high and mighty, I might suggest you volunteer sometime. Zac P.S. -> Happy late Birthday Nobody was picking on him. He started his own mess, and kept coming back for more. And what do you mean with an attitude like mine? I have an absolutely great attitude. I instigated nothing. Merely responded. I work with the special olympics and the MDA every year. I have done that faithfully for the last 12 years. That is why I found your post so offensive. Hey, theanks for the birthday wishes. Much appreciated. Good luck to you, I am done with this. |

ORIGINAL: bigcountry Yea, duffis:D:D, if your shooting at 3500fps MV. Look at the tables again. Number right on. Do it with 2960 and its pretty close. |
RE: How the .243 stacks up (part deux)
Anyway it goes, why does it matter so much to you? Is this your first gun or something?
Actually goes down to 2400 on page three |
