I had a Savage 300 Win Mag with the Synthetic stock and never had a bit of trouble with it. I have had a dozen or so Savage rifles. They are dependable and accurate and well worth the money. I have had several with synthetic stocks as I prefer them to wood stocks. Thhey have worked super well for me. I got one bad one once where the scope mount holes were not drilled in a straight line but the replaced it fast at no cost to me.

this is a question that is quite easy yes to everything. savage in my opinion is the best arms maker there is besides (rem and marlin)but i own a 111 pakage gun in 7mm rem mag that is extremely accurate, the gun is a excellent choice so is the cartridge. 7mm is my favorite of all hunting cartridges due to its longrange and heavy knock down power its a excellent choice for deer or elk.

Like Frizzellr said Most Savage guns I have shot have a tendancy to kick pretty good,But a Pacmyer(sp) decellerator recoil pad will cure that. All that I have shot grouped well.

Savage also currently produces the best factory bolt action rifled shotgun...

I've had a 110 since 69'...my first center fire...and a 112 since 92 or so. Both very accurate and both dependable. Been thinking about getting a new FSAK.

As far as "the most bang for the buck" a Savage is hard to beat no matter what model you are looking at.
