If their is no blueing now, I would say it would already have no collector interest. It is not like it is 100 years old and rare. Their are LOTS of them out their. I would not hesitate to reblue it. I say buy it, and redo it. More than likely you will keep it for a long time anyway.

No problem. I just did some checking, and their were aproximately 36,000 model 70's chambered in 300 H&H. And the price for one in that condition is listed at $350 if it is a sporter model. But my book is a few years old. Good luck, they are great rifles.

oldelkhunter go to www.gunbroker.com and search for "model 70" it may give you an idea of what you have look for pre 64's in the listings
