RE: Single shot 12 gauge.
just to be sure.... since I never owned a single shot before and "relatively new" to shotgunning... the mechanics are the same when they say the chamber is 3"... it means it can take shells up to 3"? not "only" 3"? I would be surprised if they would only take the 3" but I would rather be safe than sorry ;)
Thanks again everyone. |
RE: Single shot 12 gauge.
You are right. if it says 3 inch thenit will handle shells up to 3 inch. Many of the NEF's have 3 1/2 inch capability I think. They are a light gun so you may get a good rise out of it. I have one in the 3 inch chamber. I want to pick up a rifled slug barrel for it soon.

RE: Single shot 12 gauge.
Has anyone peeked at the Rossi single shot? |
RE: Single shot 12 gauge.
OK, single shot 12.
My first shot would be the H&R/NEF offerings. However, you would be doing yourself a real injustice by not checking out the offerings from Stevens. May be used but quite nice. I looked into those Spartans from Remington. It was going to be for one of my boys. I ran away from it because there is no way to visually see that it is cocked and ready to fire. RE: Single shot 12 gauge.
H&R/NEF has 2 models.. the Pardner and the Topper.. anyone better than the other?
I'm looking for something really basic since I dont want to spend too much money on it but then again, I want it to last so... i'm able to make compromises :) |
