Leupold's VX-II line of scopes are great for the money ($259-$400). In my opinion they are the best scopes you can get in this price range! Leupold also has a life time warranty and their customer service is great, and their made in America !
I have to disagree.I find that scopes made by weaver, nikon and bushnell offer a better product for the same money.

See I have to disagree further and say the opposite. I just got a 4200. Its nice, but for that scope competing with Leupold, it shouldn't have plastic power adjusts.

SniperEye350,
I guess if I had your choice based on what you've told me you want, I'd buy a Browning A-Bolt Composite Stalker in 270, 30-06, or 7mm mag, then top it with a Bushnell Elite 3200 or 4200 in 2.5-10x40 or 50 depending on whether you hunt in lowlight. Good luck!:D

sniper, With 700+ bucks, I would get myself a Savage 111F or 11F and use the balance of the cash for the best scope I can afford. Don't let the Savage's looks or other so-called gun experts deter you. My last 3 rifle purchases have been Savages and all 3 shoot great, as does my friend's. I have Remingtons, Winchesters, Marlins T/Cs and Brownings but the Savages are accurate and reliable rifles. Not to say the others aren't as accurate, but most of them cost more and I would rather see you spend your limited money on quality optics.
The Savage won't let you down.

My Remington BDL is a great gun, and would recommend it. Definately worth the little extra over the savage in my opinon.
