You want the blue locktite (medium strength) that can be broken loose with hand tools.

Go with the product Loc-tite itself recommends.......Gun-tite

They make it for Uncle Mikes...

Gun-Tite "welds on" scope mounts, tightens loose or worn screws, anchors swivel bases, etc. but can be easily removed. 6ml resealable tube.

I believe you will get many different answers to that.
I use it on bases occasionally.
I believe a good set of rings should not require it.

Every scope I mount I place a small dab of BLUE loc-tite on the base screws, ring screws, and the windage screws if a Leupold style rear base.

When I say a small dab I mean an ammount just large enough to cover a couple of threads.

bigbulls, you also do your windage? Hmm, might try that. I have had them go loose before.

I've been using the blue locktite on bases, rings, mounts................anything that can vibrate loose. And like bigbulls says, a little dab will do ya.

Just for those interested Loctite came out with the new Quickstix. It’s looks like a lipstick dispenser in a solid form and it’s not as messy for applying...
