It wasn't great for me either, but there's a lot of season left. The water is low and clear around here. It will rain eventually and bring in some color and water level to make the fishing a little better. I had only one strike, but I fished for only about 3 hours. Spent most of my time hanging around our campsite and BSing with some other fishermen and friends. It was a beautiful weekend to be outdoors!

i didnt waste my time. i wait till it warms up and focus on the natives, But i did see several people with stringers full here on the little muddy creek. with as many as some guys had it might be fished out already. You would never catch that many natives in a day , But man are they fun...

We hammered them around here. Everyone caught their limit+. I found a nice hole for my 7 yr old to fish and she pulled out 4 nice rainbows. Fish are alot bigger this year than in years past.

In my area we did catch a lot of fish but I didnt see as many large fish as usual. The biggest fish I caught all day was around 16 inches and I didnt see any on anyones strigers that were any bigger than that. I usually catch 1 or 2 18-20 inch fish on the first day but I didnt any big ones at all.

Caught 15 at Laurel Hill Lake in Westmoreland?? County. Most were 10-14" Browns, Rainbows and Brookies.
At 12:30 I caught a 22 - 1/2" 6 pound Rainbow on a beat-up old Hustlure (silver and blue).
Our boat landed about 50 fish, all catch & release.
Looking to get a fiberglass reproduction made of the big 'un.
My best opener in years. We beat the crowd by using the boat.
