well here in Georgia the local call them "Jacks" On ponds that have them I catch a bunch of nice sized ones when using a Black and chrome Devils Horse. When I fish the creeks, I catch them on a beetle spin set up type lure using a 2'' or 3" Riverside "Mystic" Gammes series shad minnow. I catch fish all day long on the shad minnow. In fact I only had one pack of five left, so I went to Wal-Mart last night and bought five more packs

HEck.... they'll eat just about anything you throw at them. I always used a red and white spoon but once in a while used one of those rubber worms with the little spinner on the front so I could fish across lilly pads and in real shallow water. Lots of fun to catch when they come flying across just under the surface.

the best chain pickerel lure i have used is a large spinnerbait. i just burn them and cover a lot of water.
anyhitng with a spinner is the best.
