Good luck finding out how to make them. I have never heard of their use in modern times either.... |
RE: Spearing decoy carving reference
I use spearing decoys every winter and it is not just old vintage decoys.
Rusty, They are used to spear northerns in the winter, it is shaped like a real fish such as a perch and you jig it to draw in a northern then you throw your spear. This is only done under the ice in winter so I'm sure it is a foreign topic to most people in the southern states but pretty common in the north. I can buy a decoy at any retail store but I'm interested in carving my own. |
