so you try and decoy in fish to shoot with a speargun? Ive been spearfishing for many years and never seen or herd of anyone doing this.....but its an interesting idea

It looks as if spearfishing decoys are mostly a "vintage" item, sold as collector pieces. Good luck finding out how to make them. I have never heard of their use in modern times either....

I use spearing decoys every winter and it is not just old vintage decoys.

They are used to spear northerns in the winter, it is shaped like a real fish such as a perch and you jig it to draw in a northern then you throw your spear. This is only done under the ice in winter so I'm sure it is a foreign topic to most people in the southern states but pretty common in the north. I can buy a decoy at any retail store but I'm interested in carving my own.
